Kiku Honda
HEY, THIS HERE IS OLIVIA AND I'M FIFTEEN, GOING ON SIXTEEN YEARS OLD. I'VE BEEN AT THIS FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS SO DAMN RIGHT I CAN PLAY THIS. I FOUND ENDELIGE FROM AD ON ANOTHER FORUM (THEATRUM MUNDI) AND PLEASURE TO BE HERE TO KICK ASS
NAME Honda Kiku (本田菊), a combination of a common Japanese surname, and the Japanese word for "chrysanthemum." In Western order, it is said as Kiku Honda.
AGE Sixteen
GENDER Male
ORIENTATION He's not sure himself. He's never been quite attracted to anyone, but that could change...
FACTION Almatar; he's introverted as can be, preferring to stay in his room studying all night to going somewhere with a friend. He's also humble and doesn't take to compliments well.
STRENGTHS
INTELLIGENT / CURIOUS
Kiku is fairly studious, and his grades are nothing to sneeze at. At one point, he was at the top of his class. He also has a thirst for knowledge that is unmatched by most of his peers; he spends quite a lot of time reading about science and world history.
STRONG / CONTROLS EMOTIONS WELL
No one has ever seen him angry or upset. He is always either content or mildly happy, and speaks in a calm, pleasant tone-- unless he is embarrassed.
HANDY
He is excellent at repairs, whether it be your sink or your iPhone. People describe his hands as "gifts from whatever gods they worship where he came from."
HARD-WORKING
Kiku strives to excel in everything he attempts, and cannot leave things unfinished.
WEAKNESSES
SHY
He truly doesn't have many friends, as he is a bit lacking in the self-confidence and drive to actually make some. In most classes and in the courtyard, halls, etc. he keeps to himself.
TOUCHY
Physical contact, of any kind, makes Kiku cringe. In Japanese culture, bowing was the standard way to greet people, so hugs and even handshakes are unusual to him, so when one is administered to him (or if he is groped or something blasphemous such as that), he will kick and wiggle and blush and whine until it's done.
EASILY EMBARRASSED
Not just touching will embarrass him. Any kind of comment or sexual innuendo said regarding him, or even near him can make him uncomfortable. He doesn't deal well with compliments, either.
OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE
As he spends a fair amount of time in his dorm, he's always cleaning and rearranging it. Neatness and order are a top priority to him, and some seem to believe he is mildly OCD.
LIKES
- Martial arts
- Food
- Reading the atmosphere
- Technology
- Small, fluffy animals
DISLIKES
- Cockroaches
- Public speaking (he can do it, he just prefers not to)
- Physical contact
- Being judged/talked about by other people
FEARS
- Cockroaches, again-- most bugs, more accurately.
- Other people's thoughts on him (what they say about him behind his back); he never thinks he's good enough, and is afraid that reflects in other people's eyes.
- Himself; he is rarely seen angry, but it has happened before, and things were breaking and people were bleeding. Kiku's anger is extreme, and he vowed to never let it happen again. He can't stand to hurt again.
FACE CLAIM Japan, Nihon-koku (or Nippon-koku).
APPEARANCE
Kiku is petite; both height-wise and weight-wise. Out of the male students, he is definitely one of the smaller, and his facial features definitely make him unique, Asian and feminine. His hair is cleanly cut, the bangs stopping right at his brows and the remaining hair resting comfortably on his neck. All of his features, including his hands and feet, are small in proportion to the rest of his body. His clothing, when he is not in his school uniform, is neat and usually dressy-- in public, at least. At home/in his dorm, he dresses very casually, in t-shirts and sweatpants, or shorts. Sometimes, he wears reading glasses; his eyesight is getting progressively worse, but not enough for prescription glasses.
PERSONALITY
Kiku is hard-working and ambitious, yet introverted and shy. His shyness often keeps him from doing several very important things-- making friends is one of them. They just don't come easy to him. If one does make friends with him, however, he is quite friendly, though you won't get him talking much. He's just a person you can trust, and he won't insult your every move. If you need help, Kiku is a good person to go to.
