FACTION[/color] xipil; while one might question to what degree mathias is 'morally correct' he's certainly brave-hearted, definitely prone to standing up for what he believes in and rarely fears anything. one might argue that's due to a degree of obnoxiousness, though.
STRENGTHS[/color]
• it's like amiable doesn't even begin to describe mathias. he's insanely outgoing and seems to have no problems with attempting to befriend anyone, rarely one to be judgmental when he interacts with others. this accepting nature means he considers people friends almost instantly. what others consider culture taboo he'll barely raise an eyebrow at.
• the fact that he's very at ease in conversation highlights the fact that mathias is rather laid-back; you can be sure that you won't offend him in the slightest and he'll be very casual, even in times of stress. in fact it can be very comforting to see him so relaxed and cheerful. indeed; he manages to be just about one of the happiest people you'll meet. it's rare to see him without a grin on his face and upbeat attitude. he likes being rather helpful, as well, and always willing to lend a hand.
• opinionated mathias has his own views and is very strong in getting them across. experienced and damn good at debating his own views there's also a strong sense of justice in him; if he sees something he believes is wrong it's almost guaranteed that he'll make it known he's against it. outspoken he doesn't expect to have to keep what he thinks to himself and he doesn't expect you too, either. he doesn't take someone disagreeing with him to be an insult. no, it's simply a challenge and he revels in finding out how other people think. coupled with a natural charisma his own faith in himself can be enough to inspire other's faith. coupled with the fact he's fluent in english - capable of speaking it accentless despite danish being his first language - mathias is persuasive and talented at public speaking.
• you're definitely not going to get dishonesty out of him; mathias is candid through-and-through. as mentioned he's not shy in stating his actual opinion and you can trust him if you want the truth. well, in most circumstances anyway. this comes hand in hand with the fact he's surprisingly modest. mathias is capable of admitting to his flaws. he accepts them, in fact, prone to laughing them out and handwaving them off.
• despite being laid-back mathias himself is surprisingly, well, punctual. he prefers keeping to time. he doesn't like it when others don't as being late is just rude but he's rarely one to display disappointment or aggression if someone is. yes; display being infinitely relaxed ironically mathias views rules as important and he sees the breaking of them as unnecessary.
WEAKNESSES[/color]
• while his openness can sometimes be considered refreshing it just doesn't change the fact to others that mathias can seem rude and overly direct. others will say he has a lack of tact as he feels it's just natural to ask questions that, to many others, seem quite confrontational. there will be many, many questions. mathias thinks of it as being intrusive but others will call it being intrusive and nosy. and his helpfulness, while refreshing, is often unneeded. expect him to be giving you advice even if you don't feel like you need it. he'll tell you how you should do it with barely realising that he's being obnoxious. the danes don't have a word for please, after all.
• mathias is rather crude as well; his sense of humour is, if anything, rather profane and often very offensive. he'll joke about anything, something that many would find insensitive and off-putting, and he doesn't seem to care about that. it must be said that political correctness is an unknown, foreign phenomenon to mathias and that much becomes obvious in a conversation with him.
• his friendly and upbeat attitude may rub well with some but not with others; mathias can often end up seeming overbearing due to his rather loud albeit charismatic manner of taking to social situations. after all despite seeming so laid-back he is, at heart, quite the control freak. he prefers interaction going the way he wants and can be quite possessive over people once he knows them.
• what also shows his possessive nature is his, uh, rather "hands-on" approach to people. there barely seems to be a concept of personal space. ever. leaning in, touching, friendly punches to the shoulder; they're all meant to be well-meaning. if he feels familiarity with someone he won't hesitate to express that physically which some people can find, well, unnerving if they're not used to close contact.
• he's opinionated, yes, but to others it's just argumentative. mathias expects people to be upfront about their opinions and back them up if they truly believe in them. he's willing to do that himself more than others would like and, well, it's just uncouth for many. they don't want to surrender so much information or such personal opinions but he considers it what should be standard.
• there's the fact that mathias is far too lax and entirely lacks motivation. he's fine with where he is and content with the mediocre though others find this as lazy. while ambition is perceived by many others as the want and desire to follow your dreams he doesn't really have any. for him being ambitious is the ability to avoid change and maintain the status quo. just saying ‘doin' what i’ve always done for as long as i like!’ he'll cheer, happy with just the normal. that's probably as to why he can just remain so cheerful all of the time; he's fine with what's normal. why can it?
• coming hand-in-hand with his lack of ambition while mathias can face up to the fact he has flaws he rarely seeks to improve himself. comment to him on his personality and you'll get a bark of a laugh, an amused look and a ‘ya think?’. that's all. there's no active desire to be a better person and while he's humble it can be safe to say he's doing modest wrong.

• candles surprisingly enough. he really likes lighting them and has a surprising amount in his room. it's not meant to be romantic or sensual; just simply calming.
• street art. okay, so maybe vandalising is breaking the rules a little but it's art
• pork. bacon in particular. it's delicious. truth is while he seems to respect vegetarianism to quite an extent he just really likes those pigs. that with salt. he'll call it amazin'.
• questioning people and
• handshakes. that's how you judge someone, man, on the way they shake hands. flimsy handshake? not very impressive. it's rather important to shake hands when first meeting them anyway - at least, that's the danish consideration.
• drinking. it's in his blood. while, not the alcohol of course; the ability to drink. danes like their heavy drinking.
• football as a sport. mathias doesn't play to be good; he plays for the fun of it, rarely interested in winning. he is half-decent, however.
DISLIKES[/color]
• small talk is completely and utterly redundant in his opinion. who wants to know how someone is? no one. it needs to be abolished and replaced with big talk (despite this dislike, though, he can get really enthused talking about the weather).
• while mathias is charismatic he prefers smaller groups of people compared to larger, group outings and generally tends to avoid those.
• being forced to be late or others being late. it's just the punctuality thing.
FEARS[/color]
• a charismatic person he naturally dislikes, and to some extend fears, being alone. not having any company can be depressing according to him.
• you could say he fears success and change; mathias prefers to keep the status quo and underachieve, thank you very much.
